The Senator representing Imo East Senatorial District, Distinguished Senator Ezenwa Onyewuchi, on Sunday, January 4, 2026, commissioned the Uratta Civic Centre, a modern multi-purpose facility comprising five halls, offices, a canteen, and a sports hall.
Speaking at the commissioning ceremony, Senator Onyewuchi described the centre as a vital socio-cultural hub designed to promote meaningful community engagement, unity, peace, and sustainable development within the Uratta Clan and beyond.

Reaffirming his people-centred leadership, Senator Onyewuchi declared that every community in the Uratta Clan has felt the impact of his representation through carefully targeted projects, tailored to address their peculiar needs. He further emphasized that his record of performance cuts across all nine local government areas of Owerri Zone, underscoring his unwavering commitment to inclusive development and equitable service delivery.
The Senator attributed his achievements to divine grace and the trust of the people, pledging to continue serving with integrity, dedication, and sincerity of purpose. According to him, governance must translate into tangible benefits for the people, especially at the grassroots.

He further paid glowing tribute to Distinguished Senator Hope Uzodinma for completing the strategic Orji-Uratta road leading to the Uratta Civic Centre, urging the people to continue to support the visionary leadership of the governor.
The event, which witnessed a massive turnout of supporters and stakeholders, was attended by prominent political and community leaders from Uratta Clan and Owerri North Local Government Area. Traditional rulers of the Uratta Clan also lent royal colour to the occasion, led by His Royal Highness, Eze Dr. Emmanuel Okoro, and His Royal Highness, Eze Boniface Ariri.
